We didn't manage to give this award out at the banquet, and then Laura was not able to be present at the Annual meeting when it was announced officially. So, Congratulatons to LAURA ROBINSON on winning the IR Student Paper Award for her paper "Debating the Events of September 11th: Discursive and Interactional Dynamics in Three Online Fora." Comments included "Well-written, thorough, good methodology" "A very strong, significant paper in terms of interdisciplinary theory, combined methodologies, as well as intercultural perspectives." A plaque and copies of the AoIR annual will be making their way to Laura very soon. We also identified one runner up who was very close in the race. Congratulations also to Runner-up VICTOR PICKARD for his paper "Neoliberal Imperative in Global Communication Systems from NWICO to WSIS." Congrats to all who submitted papers. We wish we had more prizes! Now, on to Australia!! /Caroline ---------------------------------------- Caroline Haythornthwaite Associate Professor Graduate School of Library and Information Science, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign 501 East Daniel St., Champaign IL 61820
