internet surveying question
I am designing a survey that will be implemented in June with users of telecenters in Brazil that will attempt to rate the skill level or maybe the degree of sophistication of the internet user. Does anyone know of any existing surveys or literature that I might be able to explore? Thanks, Jeremiah Spence PhD Student Department of Radio, Television & Film Population Research Center University of Texas at Austin jspence5@mail.utexas.edu
I asked a ten member network of mental health consumer groups if the staff member felt comfortable with the Internet on a five point scale. I also asked if their group members felt comfortable again on a five point scale. The only staff that rated them selves more comfortable than the consumer members they worked for was male and a geek whose job was to teach computers to members. All the nine women rated themselves either less than 5 on comfort and some rated their members with higher comfort levels than themselves. I can not really share more than that. These were added questions to a census of the groups to determine who would get computer funding based on need and to balance the ten groups in the network and bring them all into high speed internet use.
