Can anyone comment on the anticipated dress for the dinner? Thanks, Tony
Knowing how things are a little more casual out west, I'll guess black tie not required. Anyone else want to chime in? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lisa M. Heinz PhD Student E.W. Scripps School of Journalism Ohio University, Scripps College of Communication @LivingRural on Twitter Sent from my iPhone

This conference is usually not a black tie required kind of place, but I am going to wear my kilt... You have been warned. Mathias On 10/17/15 18:55, Heinz, Lisa wrote:

That should be a tagline for a future conference. ;) -- rick, not wearing a kilt, but def. wearing something black since the day will end in a 'y' -- It's better to burn out than fade away.

You should wear clothes. Kilts are required, if you own one. Otherwise, we'll be outside and inside for the evening. I would recommend something that feels cool and looks cool. And while there will be tables and chairs, it's a stand-and-nibble affair, so wear shoes capable of being stood upon. The same rules apply for the conference itself. I've noted in an email to presenters that Phoenix tends to be quite casual: I teach in sandals, and even our fussiest restaurants tend to have a dress code that requires little more than being somewhat covered. That said, like many hot places, some spots overcompensate on the air conditioning. I haven't found that to be true at the conference hotel, but I have not been there in the evenings. If you are planning your outfit with the expectation that a couple of crazy people will, at some point after dinner, force you to put a ridiculous novelty hat on your head and be photographed, then you will need to change your plans. This could make choosing what to wear easier. Holly On Oct 17, 2015, at 7:02 PM, Alex Halavais wrote:
