=========================================================== Call for participation (apologies for cross-posting) CLaw: IEEE 3rd International Workshop on Legal and Technical Issues in Cloud Computing and the Internet of Things http://www.claw-workshop.org 7 April 2017, Vancouver, Canada in conjunction with IC2E 2016: IEEE International Conference on Cloud Engineering =========================================================== The CLaw workshop brings together specialists from law and computer science to explore technical responses to legal problems, and to interrogate legal frameworks for new and emerging directions in cloud computing, the Internet of Things, analytics / machine learning and 'big data', and systems technologies in general. This year’s programme features two highly topical keynote presentations * Prof Colin Bennett, University of Victoria on the topic "Transnational Flows of Personal Data: Adequate Laws, Accountable Companies or Data Localization". * Craig Shank, VP at Microsoft on the topic "Emerging Technologies – Standards and Trust Mechanisms". Research papers will be presented that span issues concerning responsibility and liability in IoT ecosystems, citizen-led environmental health engagement in smart cities, security assurances in service level agreements for sensitive government data, and the safeguards regarding the role of computer vision in the emerging Internet of Things. The workshop aims to provide a forum for discussion. There will be a strong emphasis on generating new interdisciplinary research directions regarding emerging technology.
