JOB AD: Assistant Professor in Journalism Department Of English North Central College North Central College invites applications for a permanent, full-time, non-tenure track position to begin in September 2012. The position will start at the rank of assistant professor and is eligible for promotion. A higher starting rank may be considered for suitably qualified applicants. The successful applicant will be a forward-thinking, new media journalist able to teach students to think, research and write cogently and create supporting media for multiple delivery platforms. The position includes supervision of the college*s award-winning print and online student newspaper and the opportunity to coordinate the reconfiguration of existing curricula across the college in print journalism, broadcast communications, and interactive media studies into a program of multi-media based journalism for the future. Applicants should exhibit the potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and advising and a strong commitment to creative, professional and energetic leadership in a rapidly evolving field. Requirements: Professional experience and a Master*s degree in journalism required, PhD in journalism or related communications field desirable.
