I recorded several things over the course of IGF 2024. This Day 0 event wasn't one of them - I actually downloaded it from IGF's YouTube <https://www.youtube.com/@igf/streams>, and just edited. Having one's session on the first day is always a risky proposition, and true to form, the Giganet Symposium, somewhat truncated from previous years, had its fair share of gremlins - you may observe an audio drop at the start of the Round Table, and that Monika Stachon's slides were not shared with the online participants. Hope is alive that the missing material may yet materialize, to be added to this archive. Notwithstanding all that, some great research was presented. Topics included ransomware, digital sovereignty, platform governance in Arab countries, online opposition in Iran, and data portability in China. The crowning jewel was a back-and-forth between a government rep and two distinguished academics over the current state of global Internet policy inclusion.
