Applicants should hold a postgraduate qualification (minimum of a Master’s degree) in a relevant area. The External Examiner's role would include * review and approval of set assessment * review of assessed work and feedback * attending the Subject Examination Board * producing an annual report to the Degree Examination Board Examination Boards are held online. Criteria for the appointment of External Examiners includes: * knowledge and understanding of UK sector * competence and experience in the fields covered by the programme of study, or parts thereof * competence and experience relating to designing and operating a variety of assessment tasks appropriate to the subject and operating assessment procedures * familiarity with the standard to be expected of students to achieve the award that is to be assessed * fluency in English The duration of an external examiner's appointment will normally be for four years.
