Petition against ICA Exec Comm vis-a-vis Gaza
Dear friends, The Executive Committee of the International Communication Association, perhaps the largest organization of communication scholars, recently dismissed a proposal by an Arab scholar for a forthright statement against the genocide in Gaza and the killing of Palestinian journalists by Israel. Some colleagues have put together a petition condemning the undemocratic manner in which the ICA EC acted, which we believe undermines its own policies and principles. We are inviting scholars and educators, especially from the fields of communication, media, and journalism studies, to join our petition. Please read it if you have a few minutes to understand what happened and sign on if you agree with our stance. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeYztVWAovpQ6-vegiWspdjoY9p6f9_xgOO...
