indymedia -- clarification wanted
I am confused about the Indymedia story that was just posted. In one para, we are told that the hard disks were taken at the request of the US Justice dept. Yet, later in the story, we are told that there is still no info as to who took them and under what auspices. What is really known; what is supposition? To reduce confusion I would recommend reading this BBC article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/3732718.stm Robin Cheesman On 18/10/2004 09:38 p.m., Barry Wellman wrote:

With respect what is known is that the hard disks were taken and that one of Bush's outspoken critics was silenced for a time. That is enough cause for concern for anyone who believes in "democracy" - however you choose to define the term. Or are Republicans happy to win by cheating..........yet again? Have a nice day. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barry Wellman" <wellman@chass.utoronto.ca> To: "aoir list" <air-l@aoir.org> Sent: Monday, October 18, 2004 8:38 PM Subject: [Air-l] indymedia -- clarification wanted
