Instagram data scraping
Hi Does anyone have any experience and/or knowledge of ways to scrape Instagram posts? My colleague is looking to gather data on Insta posts from specific user accounts in specific timeframes. It's part of the next phase of her PhD. Dear Jeff, I went to the Digital Media Research Centre summer school at the Queensland University of Technology two years ago and one of the sessions was about scraping data on Instagram. The session was given by Prof. Patrik Wikstrom. May be you can have a look at his work. Regards, Marie Marie Palmer PhD Candidate The University of technology Sydney ________________________________ From: Air-L <air-l-bounces@listserv.aoir.org> on behalf of Jeff McCarthy <jeff.mccarthy@mmu.ac.uk> Sent: Wednesday, April 29, 2020 6:07 PM To: air-l@listserv.aoir.org <air-l@listserv.aoir.org> Subject: [Air-L] Instagram data scraping Hi Does anyone have any experience and/or knowledge of ways to scrape Instagram posts? I would like to know as well. I used brand24 for a while - but would like cheaper alternatives (Instagram api is not available?). My team here is using netlytic and gephi mostly with twitter and YouTube comments since those are most available to scrape. Dear all, In TANTLab we have used Instaloader (https://instaloader.github.io/) as the basis for our scraping. We have written a bunch of python scripts build from this base that scrapes location-based Instagram photos and returns different forms of analyses. Visit our GiTHub via www.tantlab.aau.dk or drop me a mail at akma@hum.aau.dk if you are interested. Best, Anders Den ons. 29. apr. 2020 kl. 16.27 skrev Adam Burke <adamburkemail@gmail.com>:
