Regarding virtual friendship and interpersonal empathic interactions - it might be interesting to read Dr. Hamburger - Amichai new article on Contact Hypothesis and the Internet , and check projects connecting youth belonging to communities in conflict such as SNOWBLOG.net ( implemented among Muslim and Jewish youth).
