Sorry, are you looking for reading or resources? Or both? Your message wasn't entirely clear. If resources, I would suggest Bear 411. -Alexis On Wed, 3 Oct 2007, Steven Doran wrote: ::Hi there, :: ::Venturing into a new area hear and was just wondering if anyone can make suggestions on good reading in the world of online queer indentity, especially Bear culture. Steven, In addition to what other people have already suggested, here are some more: Lee, Han N. 2007. Queering race in cyberspace. In Media queered: Visibility and its discontents, ed. Kevin G. Barnhurst, 243-260. New York, NY: Peter Lang. Monaghan, Lee F. 2005. Big handsome men, bears and others: Virtual construction of 'fat male embodiment'. Body & Society 11,(2): 81-111. Wright, Les K. 1997. The bear book: Readings in the history and evolution of a gay male subculture. New York, NY: Haworth Press. Wright, Les K. 2001. The bear book II: Further readings in the history and evolution of a gay male subculture. New York, NY: Harrington Park Press. And also there was an article titled "Bear-y gay" from the Los Angeles Times in Feb, which was about scholars's recent interests in the beardom phenomenon: http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/opinion/la-op-kaye4feb04,1,5839914....
