Dear colleague, The Knowledge Economy site on the Development Gateway http://www.developmentgateway.org/node/130667/ invites you to share your own research papers with a wider international audience as well as access resources pertaining to the knowledge based economy and its implications for developing countries. The Knowledge Economy site is managed in a partnership between the Development Gateway, the World Bank Institute, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development's Science and Technology Network and the Technology Empowerment Network. The Knowledge Economy topic members are from all over the world -including countries like Sri Lanka, Costa Rica, Norway, Uganda and Canda; they are from various professional backgrounds including donor, academic and private sector communities; and they share one common interest -namely to learn more about the so called knowledge-based economy, information economy, Internet economy, and related issues. You can upload your paper directly to the site. When you add your paper, it is first reviewed for its appropriateness to the topic. If approved, an e-mail alert is automatically sent out to all the members that have signed up to receive e-mail alerts. Other members then have the possibility to comment on the paper you submit. This therefore constitutes a great opportunity not only to disseminate your research findings, but also to get feedback on what your are working on. To add your research paper, you first have to register. This simply involves providing your e-mail address and your name (the e-mail address will not be made available to the public unless you chose to do so). You can also insert a biography and contact information if you would like, and you can chose whether or not you would like to appear in the member directory. To register, please click here: http://www.developmentgateway.org/register/ If you would like to be displayed in the member directory, please make sure to click on "become a member" displayed underneath the member directory heading. As I mentioned, in addition to sharing your research with others, you may also find valuable material for your research here. To keep up-to-date on new additions to the site, make sure to sign up to receive e-mail alerts when you register. So welcome to the Knowledge Economy community on the Development Gateway! Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions, concerns or suggestions.
