I would also add to your list the Institute of Communications Research and the (separate) Dept. of Communication, both at Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Specifically, I might suggest looking into the work of Fernando Elichirigoity at the Institute. I'd be happy to talk more about these programs off-list if you wish.

I remember wanting to apply to GLIS a year ago before coming to England.
