Postdoc position in ethnography and technology at Stockholm University
Dear all, our research group at Stockholm University is hiring a postdoc for a fully-funded, two-year position. More details below. My colleague Barry Brown (barry@dsv.su.se) is in charge of the search & he will be happy to take questions, but you are of course welcome to be in touch with me, too. Please spread the word to people who might be interested. Thanks! ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Barry Brown <barry@dsv.su.se> Hello! We have an interesting two year post doc opportunity open. The position is working at Stockholm University as part of the "Securing things: Human Centred Internet of Things Security" VR funded research project. The project’s goal is to develop the cultural, political and empirical understandings that will be needed to regulate, manage, and design for secure technology. The focus for this position is on conducting ethnographic research on those who hack computers, and in particular, embedded systems. We are looking for an experienced ethnographer, who might not necessary have particular technical skills, but who has experience investigating and understanding technical communities. The goal of this research will be to inform the design of computer security, in collaboration with our project partners at RISE. Sweden is one of the best places in the world to do a postdoc - an open, friendly, environment, with a good salary and conditions. Our research group currently has eight researchers working on a range of topics across the computing & social sciences. We publish at a high level with a supportive international environment. Applicants for both positions need to have a PhD in a relevant field (or be about to complete one). Send an email to either myself <barry@dsv.su.se> if you have any specific questions. Please apply! The deadline is the 30th May. https://www.su.se/english/about/working-at-su/jobs?rmpage=job&rmjob=9019&rml...
