Assistant Professor / Associate Professor, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (Ref: 24250209; Closing Date: 12 Jun 2025) The Academy of CHRP and the Transdisciplinary Programme of DIFH invite applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. We seek candidates with expertise in the transdisciplinary fields of Arts, Humanities, and Future and Emerging Technologies. Research areas such as Digital humanities and Philosophy of technology; Data informed philosophical issues; Ethical and theoretical aspects and impact of artificial intelligence (AI); AI governance and society; Digital applications in policy- and value-making; Digital learning and cognition. We are especially looking for candidates whose areas of competence and expertise encompass bridging the humanities with future and emerging technologies. We seek applicants with a proven international research record and a track-record of securing external research grants. Responsibilities: - Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in DIFH and REL programmes; - Conducting and publishing high-quality, impactful research in top journals; - Supervising undergraduate/honours projects and master’s and doctoral dissertations; - Undertaking administrative duties as appropriate to the level of appointment; and - Carrying out workload and responsibilities of the CHRP and DIFH, evenly distributed. Requirements: - Hold a PhD in Philosophy/Religious Studies/Digital Humanities, or closely related fields; - Demonstrate a solid publication record and a promising research agenda; - Ability to contribute to teaching on the courses for DIFH, currently including, for example: - DIFH1XXX AI and Digital Futures in the Humanities; - DIFH2XXX Digital Humanities Methodologies; - RELI2037 Big Questions in the Philosophy and Ethics of AI; - RELI3016 Philosophy, Morality and Society; - RELI3026 Christianity, Humanism and the Contemporary World; - RELI3045 Contemporary Ethical Problems: Hong Kong and Beyond; - RELI3086 Religion, Violence and Peace; - RELI3235 AI and Good Life: Global Perspectives.
