social networking sites on ... the daily show
folks, for those interested in social networking sites like facebook and myspace, check out a brilliant clip, featuring Siva Vaidhyanathan, on The Daily Show here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4698898666405139932 david
I wonder if Vaidhyanathan thought that it was brilliant. He was clearly made to look humourless. His colleague Mark Crispin Miller (I believe both from same dept. at NYU), got it even worse a few weeks back. Both were made to be horribly 'unhip' and out of touch with youth culture. a couple of friends of mine were on daily in the past couple of years. there were asked to play it completely straight although both are very witty. like other reality shows, the accent is on show with the brackets around reality. ========================================================================== Paul Jones "Work as if you live in the early days of a better nation."
