There are three prioritised research areas at the department: - Global Media Studies - Digital Media and Cultural Circulation - Communication, Citizenship and Social Change. The doctoral student is expected to perform a certain amount of department work, for instance teaching. These duties may not constitute more than 20 % of the full work time. The doctoral student is expected to be involved in the daily work at the department. The position is limited to 4 years, but can be prolonged for up to one more year. Prerequisites: Qualified for this position are candidates with a University degree of 240 ECTS, from which at least 60 ECTS were awarded for courses at advanced level and/or have a Master's degree in Media Studies, or equivalent. Admission: On the basis of individual assessment of the candidates' abilities to successfully complete the research education. The earliest date for filling the position is the September 1st 2009.
