As a practical matter, the decision set the stage for what's sure to be an interesting trial in Washington's King County later this year. Jason Heckel, an entrepreneur from Salem, Oregon, has been accused by Washington's attorney general of sending unsolicited commercial e-mail in violation of a local law designed to prevent such "spamming."
