We're sad to see you leave, but if you've made up your mind to unsubscribe from air-l, please follow the steps listed below: 1) Go to http://listserv.aoir.org/listinfo.cgi/air-l-aoir.org 2) scroll all the way down until you see the button "unsubscribe or edit options" 3) enter your email address (the one that is subscribed to the Listserve) and click on the button 4) On the new page (it has blue bars) that loads, choose the second option and click the button to unsubscribe. FYI... Actually, the simplest way to unsubscribe is to send a blank message to air-l-unsubscribe@listserv.aoir.org , from your e-mail address you are subscribed to the list. later, Mentor Cana, Ph.D. Student Blog: http://www.kmentor.com/socio-tech-info On Mon, 16 Aug 2004, at 18:21 -0400, Ulla Bunz wrote:

Hi Ulla & Jeremy, I don't think it's as much an urge to leave; but more so, to stop the flow of everyone else's mail a.s.a.p. Please tend to this. Are people perhaps misunderstanding how an unmoderated Listserv- (or similar software) based email discussion list works? An email message sent to air-l@listserv.aoir.org by any subscriber is distributed to all subscribers. To stop getting all the messages sent to the list by subscribers, one has to unsubscribe from the list either through the web interface or through an message sent to the unsubscribe address. I hope I'm not out of line here, because I'm only involved in this list as a subscriber and in AOIR as a member. I do know though from founding and then years of adminstering a huge unmoderated email list that started out running with the old majordomo software and then moving to L-Soft and using Listserv software that there can be some confusion about what email is coming from whom and how when one is subscribed to lists. (In fact, when the list topped 1000 subscribers and 50+ posts a day, I changed the header to make the reply default "sender" rather than "list", which did help with list volume and confusion, but also squelched information sharing.) if some of your messages never appear it is because they were never received. one key point of communicating with the list is that you have to send from an email that is subscribed to the list, it has to be a perfect match, or the list software will discard it.
