In my dissertation I am examining perceptions of usability from the user perspective. As recommended by Virzi, Sorce and Herbert (1993), I would like to add some heuristic evaluation. I am writing to request help with this. If you have researched the topics of usability, human-computer interaction, and/or human interface design- If you have experience with conducting usability tests and/or evaluations- If you have designed many websites and feel you have gained knowledge from within the process- If any of these conditions apply to you, you may be able to help me. Do not worry. I will not ask any of you to conduct a full scale usability test, as this takes much time, and usually costs much money. What I would ask from you would be a very informal impression forming evaluation (based on Brooke 1996, and Ravden & Johnson 1989). It would take only a few minutes to click through a (small) site, check off a few questions I would provide, and type a brief paragraph.
