hi all, maybe it could be an idea for aior to educate internet researchers how to post to a mailinglist. the amount of unnessecary junk is pretty impressive on this list. one would presume aior members would have at least some basic knowledge, for instance not to include the mail you reply to, not to send html messages, no attachments etc. the other option would be moderation and close the list. ciao, geert
Geert, while i agree that people should consider others when they post and respond and mailers should treat others as they themselves would prefer, receiving well edited and considered email, i do not see that the list has sent any attachments since 2002, and while some people do seem to prefer html in their email, most emails that come through have plain text options. as such, i don't see that your call for moderation or closing the list really is pertinent, especially in comparison to the majority of related lists in the world, which are usually moderated and closed and have the same issues, though perhaps to an even greater degree. interesting that many of these are social/behavioral issues that you're spinning as if technology can solve them / is the problem ... or was this just a troll on your part? [it seems to have worked on at least a couple of people :)] elijah
