Interesting conferences?
Can anyone share interesting conferences or events on the East Coast of the USA this fall? I have a sabbatical coming up (Aug-Dec 2017) and will be in Boston/Providence and would love to know about anything happening that's related to AoIR-ish topics! Do we have a global calendar of events and cfps of interest to AoIR people, btw? PlatformCoop 2017 has not been announced yet, but I understand the dates to be November 10-11, 2017 at the New School in NYC. Last year is at https://archive.org/details/platformcoop16 Radical Networks is a different kind of conference. Date not yet set but probably also early November, in NYC. http://radicalnetworks.org/ Last year is at https://livestream.com/internetsociety/radnetworks On Tue, Apr 18, 2017 at 7:32 AM, Kalpana Shankar <kalpana.shankar@ucd.ie> wrote:

I keep a list of conferences I find interesting here: https://sites.google.com/site/natpoor/conferences It’s a mix of Comm Studies and HCI/ACM types of conferences. It’s nice since you can sort of submission or conference date! The list doesn’t have location, that would be too much work. ECA *just* happened, it was in Boston this year. -Nat

Hi Jill and all, The 2017 meeting of the Literacy Research Association <http://www.literacyresearchassociation.org/2017-conference> will be held in Tampa from 11/29 to 12/2. A number of people on this listserv attend/present at LRA. You'll find a friendly group of literacy researchers and educators, with a strong Internet and communications technology contingent. I have a proposal under review to convene a couple panels to discuss/debate my recent pub in Hybrid Pedagogy <http://www.digitalpedagogylab.com/hybridped/wakefulness-digitally-engaged-publics/> on open scholarship and academia. Hi Jill and all,
The 2017 meeting of the Literacy Research Association <http://www.literacyresearchassociation.org/2017-conference> will be held in Tampa from 11/29 to 12/2. A number of people on this listserv attend/present at LRA. You'll find a friendly group of literacy researchers and educators, with a strong Internet and communications technology contingent.
I have a proposal under review to convene a couple panels to discuss/debate my recent pub in Hybrid Pedagogy <http://www.digitalpedagogylab.com/hybridped/wakefulness- digitally-engaged-publics/> on open scholarship and academia. If you're able to come to Tampa for LRA, I'd love to welcome you to the fold and possibly have you serve a role in our discussion.

I keep a list of conferences I find interesting here:

It’s a mix of Comm Studies and HCI/ACM types of conferences. It’s nice since you can sort of submission or conference date! The list doesn’t have location, that would be too much work.
ECA *just* happened, it was in Boston this year.
