POSITION AVAILABLE: CONSULTANT/PROJECT DIRECTOR Deadline for applications is May 20, 2003. CPSR seeks a Consultant/Project Director to develop its organizational capacity. Employment will be part-time over 18 months. The position is funded by a grant from the Ford Foundation's Media, Arts and Culture's portfolio in media policy and technology to increase CPSR's capacity to serve as the voice of civil society in media policy and technology issues, at the local, national, and global levels. Work is structured around capacity-building in various areas: · Governance · Press Relations · Publications · Chapter Development · International Administration · Event Organizing · Facilitating Policy Expertise Qualifications: · Familiarity with and commitment to CPSR's mission · Expertise in nonprofit administration and organizing volunteers. · Excellent communication skills (multiple languages a plus) · Ability to work autonomously and predominantly through email Work will be organized according to a deliverables-based workplan to be developed jointly by the Consultant and CPSR. The grant is budgeted on the assumption that on average 12-15 hours of work will be required weekly. Work will be conducted autonomously with minimal day-to-day oversight, and most work can be done via email and the web. Relocation is not required. U.S. residency is preferable.
