Folks, See a story on TechCrunch that describes a new service that allows users to export their facebook or bebo (among others). Users can put their data into a feed for their own Web sites, for example. The article describes how this might complicate facebook's ability to guard users' privacy. I'm a little more interested in what it means for the digitization of identity. Are people's identities becoming "co-mingling bits", as Negroponte would have us believe? I'm interested in what others on this list might have to say. Here's the article: http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/05/17/facebooks-friends-data-has-already-left... -- ~~~~~ Sam Ladner, PhD Sociologist Toronto
