For a panel on women's internet culture for the 2008 Berks, we seek a third panelist. Our papers deal with online communities of pregnant women and mothers: we invite proposals for papers looking at online communities related to women and reproduction, such as adoption; infertility; pregnancy loss; special issues in parenting; childbirth preparation, etc. An international focus would be welcomed. We are interested in historicizing these communities as well as looking at the change in women's groups brought on by the particularities of cyber connections. The paper proposal, while looking at contemporary or recent past sources, should be informed by an understanding of the historical origins of these communities.
