I am trying to compile a corpus of texts from Japanese, English and Danish= =20 newsgroups in the 5-year period 1999-2003 in order to make a contrastive=20 study of word-formation and neologisms in these 3 languages. However, much = to=20 my dismay I have recently discovered that the average rentention time of NN= TP=20 servers is somewhere between 2 weeks and a month!
Instead of using NNTP servers, have you tried using http://groups.google.com for this purpose? They archive most newsgroups way back to 1996. Regards, Lokman Tsui Center for eLaw University of Leiden
