The position is based at the Influencer Ethnography Research Lab (IERLab) housed within the School of Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry (MCASI). IERLab examines the socio-cultural impact of Influencers within the Asia Pacific. We produce original research on a wide variety of themes, however, we specialise in the methodologies and pedagogies of Influencer research, the digital production and economies of the Influencer industry, and the socio-cultural impacts of Influencers on the subaltern. Responsibilities include conducting nationally and internationally competitive and high-quality research in the relevant discipline/field, developing a coherent research program, participating as a co or chief investigator in applications for competitive funding, contributing to academic service and leadership, and fostering relationships with professional bodies, industry, government departments, and the wider community. A doctoral qualification in relevant discipline, preferably media studies, anthropology, sociology, or cultural studies. 2. Evidence of a record of research outputs/creative works in high-quality refereed journals/outlets consistent with the discipline(s). 3. Track record of research outputs and scholarship on East Asian Influencer cultures, and bilingual fluency in at least one East Asian language. 4. Evidence of quality and impact of research outputs/creative works including journal ranking, citation indices, patents awarded, reputation and standing of publishing house or other outlets, independent review from distinguished scholars or critics, or equivalent esteem measures as appropriate to the discipline. 5. Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity. 6. Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position. Desirable Criteria 1.
