Searching all the usual places & journals turns up very little. Self- installation is often noted but seems to be rarely actually researched as a 'consumer experience' or social process in the context of the 'work' one has to do to get it to work. Does anyone know of any either complete or in-progress research on this? Research done in organisational settings (especially small businesses) or by market researchers isn't excluded.
