A PhD position (3 years, full-time) and a PostDoc position (full-time, 3 years + possibility of 3 years extension) are available in the newly established research group "Ethics in Information Technologies” at the University of Hamburg (further information on both positions below). In our research group "Ethics in Information Technologies" we analyze the ethical, epistemic, political and societal premises and implications of digital technologies. Based at the Department of Informatics, we also cooperate closely with colleagues from the Informatics department and actively participate in the design and development of new technologies. We further contribute to the academic, public and political debate around digitalisation. For both positions we are looking for candidates with degrees in philosophy or related, relevant disciplines. You will also teach at the intersection of philosophy and computing (4 hours/week) and are expected to contribute to the academic and public disourse on "Data, Knowledge & Society”. Requirements: Master degree in philosophy or a related discipline.
