Book Presentation "Dating. 21" ... Gallery December 4, 2007 | 19:00 - 21:00 The new dating culture in the Web 2.0 On December 4th 2007, the book presentation on "Dating. 21. Liebesorganisation und Verabredungskulturen" took place at the ICT&S Center with the editors Karin Mairitsch, Marc Ries and Hildegard Fraueneder. The anthology ³Dating.21² is focussing on the present dating culture controlled by the media and discloses its cultural and medial roots. The book includes following topics: the ³divided² self-portrayal, the engagement to political protest, the ownership structures in the Web 2.0 as well as the set up of emotions regulated by dating platforms. The publication ³Dating.21² was sponsored by the Austrian impulse programme ³FHplus² in line with the research project ³Kompetenznetzwerk Mediengestaltung² as well as by the study course ³MulitMediaArt² at the University of Applied Science Salzburg and the ³Federal Ministry for Science and Research². The book, edited by Marc Ries, Hildegard Fraueneder and Karin Mairitsch and published by ³transcript Verlag² in 2007, was adapted from a conference held at the festival ³basics.
