The Centre is headed by Professor Rick Bennett, previously of College of Fine Arts (COFA) at UNSW. The Centre of Communication and Design (CoCD) is one of three academic Centres at RMIT University Vietnam providing academic leadership in creative discipline areas throughout the Asian region. Under the guidance of the Head of Centre, and three Heads of Department, successful candidates will deliver classes and undertake administrative and research activities according to the academic workload model of RMIT University Vietnam - the largest off-shore campus in the World in a highly global environment. The Centre of Communication and Design seeks to appoint up to: 5 x Senior Educators, Lecturers, Senior Lecturers – Bachelor of Design (Digital Media); 5 x Senior Educators, Lecturers, Senior Lecturers – Bachelor of Communications (Prof. Comm.); 1 x Senior Educator, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer – Bachelor of Fashion (Merchandise Management); Responsibilities - Candidates will possess a demonstrated ability to teach and develop course materials in discipline areas (practical and/or theoretical) of: Design - Interactive Media and/or Digital Video at an undergraduate level; or Communications - Public Relations and/or Advertising at an undergraduate level; or Fashion – Logistics, Retail, Merchandising at an undergraduate level. Ideally, candidates will also have significant industry experience in one or more of the above areas. These roles may include: responsibility for teaching and development; course coordination; curriculum design; course administration; and quality assurance for core stream curriculum in relevant courses.  Candidates need to: • A Masters Degree in a relevant discipline area (for Senior Educator positions); • Be an experienced educator in tertiary level programs (preferably 5 years); • Obtain IELTS (Academic) with overall score of 7.0 and with no band less than 6.5 OR equivalents: • Be engaged with established and emerging theory, practices and debates in the context of contemporary media and technologies; • Be an accomplished practitioner with highly effective organisational and communication skills; • Have wide experience in social media as a communication tool (for teaching and practice); • Be experienced with commercial client-based projects, in managing small creative teams and/or in the supervision and mentorship of senior level degree projects; • Undertake research activities in line with the University's research strategy that emphasises relevant and applied research. Preferred candidates will: • Have achieved a PhD or Doctoral qualification; • Possess a tertiary teaching qualification (Grad. Cert. offered at RMIT if currently unqualified); • Have be awarded Teaching Awards and Scholarship achievements; • Be regularly producing and exhibiting creative outcomes.
