Visit http://www.ischools.org/iConference13/registration to register (note preconference workshops are free with conference registration). The goals of the 2013 digital youth workshop are to bring together researchers who are interested in contempoary youth and in being at the outset of a new digital youth community. The workshop will consist of one-minute “lightning” presentations followed by an unConference format where participants come together around working groups of interest. The digital youth workshop at iConference 2013 is the first in a three-event sequence. It will bring together a diverse initial community that will further comprise a steering group to help plan the second event, a Digital Youth Summit 2014 (in Seattle) that will be sponsored and attract participants from industry, government, non-profits, education, and media. The third event will return to the iConference 2015 for reporting out. There is still room for more participants, and the organizing team from Michigan, Maryland, and UW would like to see as wide a representation as possible in the workshop. We especially invite faculty members and doctoral students from the same school to attend together. So if you’re interested and have not already signed up, please take advantage of early bird registration (and invite other faculty and doctoral students to do so also) and sign up for this February 12 half-day workshop (FREE) when you register for iConference 2013. We’d also like to keep track of who is attending, so if you would please contact University of Washington graduate assistant, Elizabeth Mills jemills1@uw.edu to let us know who from your School or Department will be attending – and also if you have further questions.
