Dear all I received a number of emails complaining why the links do not work. I checked from here (Manchester) they work just fine, though. I do not know what the problem is but will report to the webmaster tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, here is an alternative link (from my blog) where you can download the full report http://audentis.wordpress.com/2011/04/03/report-social-media-civil-society-i... CITIZENS IN @CTION
Indonesia is booming on social media. It has the second largest population on Facebook and also scores second on the amount of tweeps in Asia. Recently Hivos and University of Manchester's Institute of Innovation Research (MIOIR) carried out a research into the way civil society organisations and groups engage in civic activism by means of the use of Internet and social media in Indonesia. This research shows how various civic engagements impact the shaping of the civil society in the country, and more importantly, social change. It contributes to the overall debate on the use of social media and civil society organizations in Indonesia in particular and global at large.
The report “Citizens in @ction” was launched in Manchester on the 4th of April 2011. Download it from MIOIR here http://research.mbs.ac.uk/innovation/Ourresearch/Ourpublications/Reports.asp...
