The Institute of Social Sciences - University of Lisbon invites candidates to apply for a Research Grant as a Junior Research Assistant to work in project “Politics, Policy, Populism and Online Media: Investigating Possible (Dis)Connections and Actors in Modern Democracies” (reference IF/01451/2014/CP1239/CT0004) funded by the FCT (Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology) and coordinated by Dr. Susana Salgado (Principal Investigator). *Selection criteria:* - Master in Political Science (preferably obtained in the last four years). - Proven experience and interest in one or more of the following: political communication, comparative studies, journalism studies, media studies. - Demonstrated high-level written communication skills in English. - Proven ability to conduct high quality research. - Strong knowledge of quantitative methodologies and SPSS. * Desired:* - Relevant experience in online and social media. - Knowledge of content analysis and social media analytics. Contract duration and pay scale: This appointment will be offered on a fixed-term, full-time basis for 12 months, with 3 months of probation period contingent on a satisfactory performance, and might be renewed for equal or different periods up to a full period of 24 months.
