Males me think of the protocols for making copies of something you've published available on the web. I have done this extensively: www.bendavidson.co.uk/professional_pages/publications/books/estrife/index.ht m ...and expect at some point one of my publishers to get pissed off with me about it. I read an interesting piece in the Guadian last Sumer by an academic in SW England - I'll look it up - who found a way around publishers' disquiet at this, simply by calling what is on the web 'pre-publication version'.
