Having run a search on my name via yahoo I notice I am referenced to a discussion re the self in cyber space. Ben Davidson from the group analytic list would have introduced that. (Ben my home pc has been out of use for several months now - could I resubscribe from work - please let me know how - ? My e-mail is kieron.corrigan@awp.nhs.uk)
Jeremy your brief thoughts on the Foucaldian dimensions of the self in cyberspace were very interesting. I guess the kind of technology cyberspace becomes depends on how it is used? It being not so much the medium as the discourse that it supports? Searching my name on a search engine was a curiously affirmative experience - it's as though some trail of my existence has been laid down. In a way in the community of cyber ephemera it tells me I am, and then to find I am referenced in this way is rather like an aspect of myself has taken on a life of its own - I'll check to see what I've been doing...
