BFM was founded in 2004 by the agreement between Baltic states and Nordic countries. Our faculty and over 400 students now hail from more than 20 countries in Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Australia. At the end of 2011 our new purpose built building will be completed and equipped with most up-to-date technologies and facilities for the production of all formats of screen media. ** ** ABOUT THE POST In Autumn 2011 BFM will launch a new "Cross-Media Production" MA programme (jointly with Tartu University's Institute of Journalism and Communication) and invites applications for the following academic position: *Professor/Associate Professor of Cross-Media* Full time position, contract for 3 years, salary and title dependent on background and qualifications. Effective Date of Appointment: August/September 2011. The successful candidate for professoral position has a background both in academic research and teaching, has a doctoral degree in either media studies, information science, ICTs, film studies, art theory, linguistics, semiotics or similar. Solid research background in these areas should be demonstrated by publications in renowned international journals. The candidates for the position of associate professor could have a background either in academic research or in practical crossmedia production and are expected to have at minimum a masters degree in a field relevant for crossmedia production. Candidates with practical backgrounds should present additionally their creative portfolio. All candidates have to be proficient in English and are expected to have substantial experience in higher education teaching. Teaching areas are expected to include transmedia storytelling, crossmedia development, intermediality, convergence culture, remix culture, media production studies, media management, media ecology, media archaeology, media semiotics or similar.
