I'm not sure if this is the type of thing you're after, but have you had a look at Eventifier? http://eventifier.com/ It will pull in photos, tweets, slides, videos, etc. Cheers Katrina On 28 November 2013 11:08, Tyler Handley <tylerhandley@gmail.com> wrote:
I haven't seen this at an Academic conference but I'm sure it could be of use.
At marketing events I've seen companies use Twitterfall - a constantly updating stream of updates Tweeted by event participants centred around said event's hashtag. Requires a projector and a big wall.
Hope that helps!

hi
Not exactly what you want but: at the Berlin Institute for Internet and Society launch they had a number of things - everyone filled out an ID page on a website with research interests etc, they handed over to you cards with scannable codes on registration and when you wanted to speak during a session someone would come over with a smart phone, scan your card and your info would be projected onto a screen. They had other participatory things too, check out their website.
HTH, cheers

Colleagues,
I've been asked to come up with ideas on innovative and useful ways to incorporate social media tools into an upcoming academic conference in the social sciences. Have any of you come across some particularly useful integrations of social media/web tool at academic conferences.
Thanks, Jose --
