A public lecture by Professor Joseph Turow. Professor Turow is just completing a comprehensive study of the ways in which new digital technology fundamentally alters the relationship between consumers and those interactively involved in selling to them. Professor Turow provides novel insights into the privacy issues, questions of autonomy and self, and areas for regulatory concern. Turow is Robert Lewis Shayon Professor of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg School For Communication. He is the author of more than 50 articles and seven books on mass media industries, including _Breaking Up America: Advertisers and the New Media World_, _Playing Doctor: Television, Storytelling and Medical Power_, and _Getting Books to Children: An Exploration of Publisher-Market Relations_.
