Now accepting proposals for critical essays, memoir, interviews, creative mixed genre pieces…. Sex on Stage; Writing the Body Politic edited by Feona Attwood, Alison J Carr and Lynn Sally Sex on Stage explores staging(s) of sex on multiple levels: as performances of the sexed body and of multiple genders, as expressions of sexual identity and desire; and as part of the shifting cultural repertoires of sex which encompass both intimate acts and and public displays. From burlesque to drag to porn and pop stars, these performances push against decorums of respectability, instead flaunting the body to shock, entertain, tell stories, and express a new kind of gender expression.
