INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY@THE MARKLE FOUNDATION The Markle Foundation, a New York based private and independent foundation, is currently seeking a paid research intern to assist the Chief of Research with research, editing and administrative tasks. Emerging communications media and information technology create unprecedented opportunity to improve people's lives. We collaborate with innovators and thought leaders from the public and private sectors whose expertise lies in the areas of information technology, privacy, civil liberties, innovation, health, and national security. Responsibilities may include: * Providing various research tasks, mapping relevant literature for various projects involving the potential of technology to transform societal sectors. * Providing news and other updates on a variety of fields where the Markle Foundation is active in, or is exploring. * Drafting internal papers on select topic areas that can be used as background. * Other tasks as directed. Preferred Qualifications: * Graduate student with background in technology, communications, law or economics. * Proven research and analytical skills. * Strong writing and editing abilities. * Familiarity with internet research tools and interest in new ways of presenting information. * Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
