I received similar information from the contact I've made over in LoC, but a few more bits that might be useful (forgive me if it's repetitive). They are hoping to make data available remotely (so that researchers do not have to come to the LoC to gain access to data sets). They are also hoping to be able to transfer this data to researchers, so they are working through the different formatting issues. Yes, they are receiving the entire archive back to 2006. However, they will not receive any tweets newer than 6 months. I'm hoping to continue conversations to see what other answers I can find for us. Take care, Liza ______________________________________ Liza Potts, Ph.D. Assistant Professor of Writing, Culture, and Technology Co-Director, CeME Lab Old Dominion University Norfolk, VA 23529 AIM: LizaPotts Skype: lkpotts http://ceme.digitalodu.com/ On Fri, Jun 3, 2011 at 7:41 AM, Cornelius Puschmann < cornelius.puschmann@uni-duesseldorf.de> wrote:
Thanks a lot for this information, Amanda. Let's hope that we'll get the kind of access necessary to conduct real research...

For those interested in access to Twitter data - here's a recent article from O'Reilly with quotes from US Library of Congress sources saying access for some researchers may be available as early as 4 to 5 months from now...
