Dear Colleagues,
In the recent thread on unsolicited porn spam, I sent a playful response to Marj Kibby's note.
I thought you were serious, Ken, because it wasn't outside my own experience. I am noticing a marked increase in the level of spam. The stuff doesn't seem to be terribly well targeted either. I get spam trying to sell me breast enlargements, a recurring one from various sources that says "add inches to your penis", porn of various and hitherto unthought of (at least by me) inclinations, innumerable get-rich-quick schemes (by far the biggest bulk), both male and female viagra substitutes, life insurance, "easy" credit and credit cards, spying software, get-out-of-debt-quick schemes, the originally "Nigerian" send-me-your-bank-account-details-and-I'll-send-you-16-million-dollars scheme (innumerable), pyramid schemes, ponzi schemes, etc ect etc --- you name it. It mostly comes through my geocities account. Best to all. Phil ......................................................................................................
