Thanks, Alex, for the quick answer. But Yahoo Media Player actually requires me to map _all_ the files I want to make public (i.e. write the corresponding HTML code). Though I can surely find out the way to do this dynamically with PHP, I'd rather first search (and find) for an existing solution. So, I need the feature that enables the user to browse inside the folders and then choose what files to play, instead of having it preset in a web page. :) i. At the moment I am listening to the Utne Reader's Music Sampler (http://www.utne.com/Utne-Reader-Music-Sampler-September-2010.aspx) which makes use of the Yahoo Media Player (http://mediaplayer.yahoo.com/) which seems like it does what you might want...
Best,
Alex

Dear list,
This might sound like an odd question...
I need to be able to stream quite a huge collection of podcasts online. They are stored in a web (can be accessed through FTP too) server and classified in several folders.
To make a long exposition short, I would like to either set up a sort of Spotify in my own web/FTP server or to have your usual flash player, but with the possibility to choose the files you want to play, instead of having it already preset.
Or, in other words, with or without having to install locally a desktop application, I would like to be able to play the podcasts stored in my web/FTP server.
Any ideas?
Thank you very much,
