I have to ask -- how do you address issues of informed consent and privacy in this situation? It seems to me that by forming a closed group, members are making a explicit choice to keep their communications private within the group. It seems to me that attempting to acquire that data, and particularly to pay Facebook for this data, would run afoul of most IRBs, would it not? Kind regards, Nathalie On 11/7/17 2:37 AM, Ylva Hård af Segerstad wrote:
Hello everyone,
Since Facebook removed the possibility to scrape data from closed groups, I’m wondering what the latest approach folks are now using to access data from closed groups? If it is possible to approach FB and pay for the data, what would be the procedure (and cost!) for this?
Best,
