Bob, Also sign up for the association of Internet researchers, that is very interdisciplinary and general. Go to air-l@listserv.aoir.org to join. Keep in touch. Gene On Mon, Jun 11, 2012 at 9:26 AM, Bob De Schutter <bobdeschutter6@gmail.com>wrote:
Hi Gene,
Thanks for doing so. I very much appreciate all the help and information you've given me.
I've joined both groups now. (Apparently, something went wrong the last time around as I didn't receive a password. I did receive one now, and I should be on it now.)
I'll have a look at what comes in through the mailing lists, and then I'll introduce myself and my work.
Thanks again,
Bob

Hi Gene,
Likewise. It's always nice to meet new people in the field. Collaborating would certainly be nice. I am very much a facilitator for collaboration as well so I'll keep an eye out for people or things that might interest you. For now, you might want to take a look at FRAG<https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#%21forum/frag2011>. It's a Google Group started by Julie Brown (University of Kentucky) and myself, that brings together people who do research on games and older adults or the elderly. At the moment, there's little going on there (as the topic is obviously quite narrow), but you can go through its members list to find more people on this topic.
Thank you for the papers, the special issue in ci, and the eList. I've joined the list right away and I'm looking forward to reading everything. I'll make sure to promote all of them among colleagues as well.
Feel free to spread my papers among your network and thank you so much for doing so. As I'm currently looking for an assistant professor job (design, social sciences, game development, etc.) in the US, Canada or Singapore, I'll take any exposure I can get. (Btw, if you do not have the web space available to host the files somewhere yourself, then please use the following shortened URLs. Also, if you have Dutch readers then it might be interesting to them to have a look at my doctoral research ( http://www.bobdeschutter.be/phd) which I am still translating to English articles.)

Thank you again for everything.
Best,
Bob

Hi Gene,
Thanks for the fact sheet and heads up on the papers.
I've been working on digital games and older adults (some elderly) for a couple of years. My PhD dissertation was on the topic (although unfortunately it was written in Dutch).
Here are some papers of mind that are accessible on my blog (in case you are interested):
