Hi, I'm co-organising an event on wikis in Montréal on 18-19-20th may 2007. http://www.rocococamp.info/ It's the third edition of the RecentChangesCamp, which took place twice in Portland Oregon. The Montréal (bilingual) edition has been untitled Rococo. (Rencontre sur la Collaboration, la Créativité et l'Autogestion = Meetings on Collaboration, Creativity and SelfManagement). Wikis will be central, but the event is also gathering people interested in collaboration practices at large (researchers, artiste, video, geeks...) It's a BarCamp (don't know if you are familiar with it if not, see http://barcamp.org/) organised with the OpenSpace Technology (methodology that help having a User Generated Conference). We are waiting for people from different background, some have been using and stuying Wikis in education(1). A bar camp allows participants to suggest their own session, so we could have one or more session on wiki in education. I'm personnaly interested in this subject. The 2 past RCC meetings allowed us to create 6 communities on the web...so you could also take this as a possibility to get on practice/knowledge communities. (1) see for exemple : - http://www.rocococamp.info/StewartMader author of Using Wiki in Education http://www.ikiw.org/ - http://www.rocococamp.info/Alain_Désilets (wikis in primary school) - http://www.rocococamp.info/PierreLeonardHarvey (wikis in distance-teaching) Everybody with an interest in the field is welcome. + it's free. If you want to participate, write your name on the list http://www.rocococamp.info/Participants Anne Goldenberg ps : // Drupal Koumbit is one organisation that is going to participate to this event. http://koumbit.org/ This OBNL is specialised with Drupal and has organised several Drupal meet up. http://groups.drupal.org/montreal-quebec They also have some contracts on Drupal for education, so you might have some interesting exchange with them. Hi,
Does anyone happen to know of any seminars or courses being held over the summer (or any other time for that matter) that focus on wikis, drupal, or content management, and that have an educational orientation? I'm studying the educational uses of content management systems like wikis and drupal, but I'm also tying to gain a better understanding of how to make them work for the department I'm in.
Thanks,
