Cultural Studies Association Queer, Creative, and Critical Code Call for Papers (CSA.Q3C.CFP) The working group on Queer, Creative, and Critical Code invites submissions for the 13th Annual Meeting of the Cultural Studies Association (U.S.), to be held at Riverside Convention Center, Riverside, California, May 21-24, 2015. The influences of digital technology are myriad and disorderly. Q3C draws together scholars from various disciplines who find these influences interesting. Our goal is to provide a rich and stimulating intellectual home for conversations about the role of digital technology in the context of human culture. We endorse a firm understanding of each technology as a technical object and of the historical situation in which these technologies take on meaning and have their effects. Q3C panels attract broad audiences and include original work on a range of topics including social media, software studies, game studies, software engineering, software art, digital culture, creative code projects, the industry, and digital art. We are soliciting papers for sessions on things digital and welcome papers engaging the CSA Conference theme, "Another University is Possible: Praxis, Activism, and the Promise of Critical Pedagogy" The deadline for abstracts (of 500 words) is February 15, 2015. Please send submissions and inquiries to chuk.edu at google mail.
