The LIS Bibliometrics Committee is looking for two new colleagues to join us: a new Blog Manager and Deputy Blog Editor to look after our The Bibliomagician – Comment & practical guidance from the LIS-Bibliometrics community <https://thebibliomagician.wordpress.com/> and continue the excellent work of our colleagues Rachel Miles and Laura Bredahl all these years. The Bibliomagician blog is a highly regarded source used by practitioners, scholars, and others. You will have a key role in caring for this jewel! *Lis-Bibliometrics Committee Role Descriptions* *Blog Manager* The Blog Manager is committed to the following: - Ensure that the blog editors consist of one Blog Manager and up to 2 Deputy Blog Editors - Ensure that blog posts happen on a regular basis at approximately 1 post per month. - Ensure consistency in the entire blog posting process by leading the solicitation and management of posts with or through the Deputy Blog Editors. This includes: - identifying potential authors, - soliciting content, - editing, - signing of authorship agreement, - posting and - communications associated with the dissemination of the blog post. - Time commitment: Approximately 5-10 hours per month split between all blog editors. *Deputy Blog Editor* The Deputy Blog Editor is committed to the following: - Working with the Blog Manager to ensure that blog posts happen on a regular basis at approximately 1 post per month. - Working with the Blog Manager to ensure consistency in the entire blog posting process. This includes: - solicitation and management of posts - identifying potential authors, - soliciting content, - editing, - signing of authorship agreement, - posting and - communications associated with the dissemination of the blog post. Time commitment: Approximately 5-10 hours per month split between all blog editors. The Committee meets face-to-face once a year (usually at the annual conference) and virtually about three times a year, to move forward with the group's work. Committee terms are usually for two years, with the possibility of extension for a further term.
